Surroundings evening and night

I wonder how to get hold such a beautiful creature - and see the northern lights within a day.

Aurora borealis and hard work in the studio

Tonight was the northern lights as a faint green mist over the fields north of the farm.
I took a long walk with the dog, but the aurora borealis did not develop.
When I got home to my little studio the sky started to crackle.

Too bad I did not have time to fix the tripod.
